"Enduring Tempatation - Tried Faith"

"My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing" (James 1:2-4).

Christ was tempted in all points.

"Is there a God?"

"Men, which are made after the similitude of God" (James 3:9)

Christendom has created its own version of God and, in doing so, has turned away from Yahweh. Humanity has chosen to follow this invented deity, rejecting Yahweh in the process. Yet, Yahweh has revealed Himself to us. It is crucial to have an accurate understanding of Yahweh—His nature and character. Christ emphasized the significance of truly knowing Yahweh: "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent" (John 17:3). Jeremiah testifies of the glory in the knowledge of Yahweh: “Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me" (Jer 9:23-24).

"Faith Without Works Is Dead"

"Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works" (James 2:17-18).

"Sin What it is, and How it Came About"

Sin created the breach between God and man. Sin is the great present barrier between man and God. Sin brought death. Sin-in-the-flesh or the flesh of sin is the problem with mankind. God cannot look on sin. Harmony with God through His way of salvation is wisdom and life. Disharmony with Him is folly and death. Peace with God through Christ His son is life’s highest priority, joy and accomplishment.

"But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death" (James 1:14, 15).

"Wisdom from Above"

"But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace" (James 3:17-18).

"Immortal Soul"

"Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death (James 5:20).

The serpent’s lie to Eve: "Ye shall not surely die" (Gen 3:4). This is the same lie told by countless ministers and preachers throughout the world, that we have an immortal soul.

Man is totally mortal. The theory of the possession of an “immortal soul” or “immortal spirit” is derived from pagan mythology. Man is made of the dust, and returns to dust. His “spirit” which he possesses is the life-giving force that is universal and which emanates from God. “Soul” is a word meaning a breathing creature, or denoting life. Because of the curse, man is a totally dying creature: immortality is given by God to the faithful. In death there is no entity that continues to live. When mankind dies, he is like the beasts that perish. He has no remembrance. He has no preeminence above a beast. At death both man and beast go to the grave (Hebrew “sheol”.) Man’s only hope to obtain an undying state is through the resurrection. No burning eternal torment at death, either. The living know that they shall die, but the dead know not anything.

What is the true hope of man? Can man hope for heaven after death?

"The Vanity of Life"

"Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that" (James 4:14-15).

If the Lord wills -- Thy will, not mine

"Angelic Manifestations"

Two angles are named in Scripture:

  1. Michael (Daniel 10:13,21, Daniel 12:1, Jude 9, Revelation 12:7–12)
  2. Gabriel (Daniel 8:16, Daniel 9:20-22, Luke 1:26-38)

What are angels? Since their existence is not apparent by our natural observation, it is all too easy to assume that what we do not see does not exist. The answers to these questions can be found only in the Bible. We have no other source of reliable information. Angels are prominent in both the Old and New Testaments. Although the word "angel" in the Bible, meaning a messenger, nearly always applies to heavenly beings, it can occasionally apply to human messengers. Why did God create angels? Is it possible for an immortal, heavenly angel to sin?

"The Prayer of Faith"

"Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much" (James 5:16).

"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him" (James 1:5).

The need, the power, the requirement or prayer.

"What is Truth?"

There is one Bible which contains God’s holy and divine Word of Truth, but many Churches.

A religious "emotional experience" is meaningless unless it is based on knowledge and obedience of the Truth. The Bible teaches the way to eternal life is a straight and narrow way and few there be that find it. Broad is the path to destruction.

"Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth" (James 1:18).

"Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God" (James 4:4).

"But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth" (James 3:14).

"Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him" (James 5:19).

"The Coming of the Lord Draweth Nigh"

"Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh" (James 5:7-8).

The hope of the Gospel relates to the second coming of Christ. Christ received into heaven in bodily form; will return in the same fashion. The whole earth is to be ruled by him. This theme of the Bible runs from Genesis to Revelation. All of man's religions and superstitions will be abolished.
